What We Do

Research

GUIDE conducts studies into prevailing socio-economic phenomena to identify critical development and policy needs and to ascertain whether policies are improving the lives of their intended beneficiaries. 

Our research findings provide important sources of information for both citizens and government, and form a substantial basis for monitoring government policies and actions, and supporting advocacy for alternative policies for government, the private sector, and other institutions.

Community Awareness and Empowerment

GUIDE works with government and private stakeholders to sensitize communities about civil rights and services. Using various channels including community dialogues, and mass communication (radio, TV, print, social media), GUIDE creates/increases community awareness and demand for public and social services.

Capacity Building

GUIDE develops training programs, guides, and tools for partners, organizations, and communities. We also facilitate trainers and peer educators training on various issues including Health, Civic Education, Agriculture, Clean Energy, and Entrepreneurship.

Information, Education & Communication (IEC)

GUIDE develops IEC materials including posters, films, discussion guides, case studies, policy briefs and advocacy tools. GUIDE produces these materials for different audiences including health workers, leaders, civil society organizations, and communities. We also provide disability-inclusive versions of these materials such as braille transcriptions to cater for diverse audiences.

Civic-Tech

We enhance the relationship between the people and government through software-aided communications, policy awareness, decision-making, service delivery, and political processes.

Humanitarian Aid Technology

Supporting timely and effective delivery of assistance to disadvantaged communities, with the aid of technology, including: internet access and connectivity, mobile phones, improved data analytics, social media networks, apps and drone applications.
