Programs

Special Needs Education Policy

The Special Needs Education Policy program:

PWDS Employment Program (PEP)

The program promotes disability rights and well-being through research and advocacy for inclusive policies and programs. It focuses on education, employment, social security, accessibility, and rehabilitation. Key initiatives include the Accessible Services Campaign for barrier-free environments. PEP collaborates with stakeholders to create a more equitable society where individuals with disabilities can reach their full potential.

Women Leadership Development

The program empowers women to excel in leadership roles by nurturing self-confidence, honing assertive communication, and fostering valuable mentorship relationships. It challenges gender stereotypes worldwide by deconstructing them and promoting gender equality.

Environment and Climate justice

GUIDE is tackling a planetary crisis involving climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution, which threaten human rights and disproportionately impact marginalized communities. Through projects promoting environmental law, accountability, and resilience, GUIDE aims to address these challenges and protect vulnerable groups from ecological injustices.

Rural Research and Development

The program uses participatory research and impact evaluation as practical tools informing action, outcomes and learning. This focuses on integrating all components of the research process which are undertaken to design, implement and sustain the interventions by CESCO in the rural areas. These components largely include needs assessment, baseline surveys, mid-term assessment, and sustainable impact evaluation (SIA).

Agriculture Support

In Uganda, we promote sustainable livelihoods by training farmers, especially women, in better agricultural practices and new technologies to boost crop yields, save water, and enhance soil fertility. Our focus is on small-scale and marginalized farmers in both rain-fed and irrigated areas, encouraging adoption of advanced and eco-friendly farming methods.

WASH

The WASH program works with communities to harvest and store rainwater for direct use, and/or replenish groundwater by building and restoring infrastructure in villages. It supports revival of traditional water bodies, construction of water storage infrastructure, and safe disposal of wastewater.

Refugee Care

We support refugees’ healthcare, education, safety and economic well-being, through entrepreneurial skills training, health outreaches, and peace education.

Civic Competence

The program conducts research and designs strategies to support individuals and community groups to fully participate in civic life, by strengthening their knowledge of social and political concepts and structures, including democracy, justice, equality, citizenship, and civil rights.
